Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Offlendar is developed and published by an independent developer operating under the App Store listing for Offlendar (bundle identifier com.vinh.Offlendar). This policy covers the App available for Apple devices (iPhone and related widgets).

2. Information We Collect and Process

Offlendar does not require you to create an account with us, and we do not operate a cloud backend that stores your calendar content. Information you enter or grant access to is processed primarily on your device.

2.1 Information you create in the App

Depending on how you use Offlendar, the App may store on your device:

• Calendar events (titles, notes, locations, dates/times, recurrence, colors, reminders)
• Tasks and subtasks (titles, notes, due dates, priorities, tags, completion status)
• Photo notes (images, captions, optional on-device OCR text, links to events/tasks)
• App preferences (language, week-start, biometric lock, notification and sync toggles, and similar settings)
• Widget snapshots shared between the App and Offlendar widgets via an App Group on your device

This content is stored locally using on-device databases and files (including an App Group container such as group.com.vinh.Offlendar). CloudKit sync for Offlendar data is disabled.

2.2 Device permissions you may grant

With your permission, Offlendar may access:

• Calendars (EventKit): to read and write Apple Calendar and other calendars available on your iPhone (including Google calendars signed into iOS), so events can stay available offline in Offlendar.
• Reminders: to import Apple Reminders as tasks and optionally keep them in sync.
• Camera and Photo Library: to capture or attach photo notes. Images and captions stay on your device unless you export or share them yourself.
• Location: only for optional arrive/leave (geofence) reminders you create. Location coordinates and place names for those reminders are stored on-device and are not uploaded by Offlendar to our servers. Background location is used only so those reminders can fire when the App is closed.
• Face ID / Touch ID / device passcode: optional biometric lock so you can protect access to the App. Biometric data is handled by Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework and is not collected by us.
• Notifications: local alerts for events, tasks, briefings, and location reminders. Notification content is generated on-device.

You can revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Offlendar.

2.3 On-device text recognition (OCR)

If you enable “Read text in photo notes,” Offlendar uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework to extract text from images. That processing happens on your device; recognized text is stored with the photo note locally.

2.4 Place search

When you search for a place (for example, to attach a location reminder), the App may use Apple MapKit / local search. Place search queries may be sent to Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy practices. Offlendar does not send those queries to our own servers.

2.5 Backups and exports you initiate

Offlendar lets you export ICS calendars and JSON backups, and import ICS or backup files. Export and import use the system Files / share interfaces. If you save, email, or upload an export to another service, that destination’s privacy policy applies. Offlendar does not automatically back up your library to our servers.

2.6 Information we do not collect as app content

We do not collect your Offlendar events, tasks, photo notes, or location reminder details onto developer-operated servers for storage or analysis.

3. How We Use Information

On-device information is used solely to provide App features, including:

• Showing and editing calendars, tasks, and photo notes
• Syncing with calendars and reminders you authorize on the device
• Scheduling local notifications and optional location-based reminders
• Powering Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets via the shared App Group
• Optional app lock with biometrics
• Showing ads and limited promotional content (see below)

4. Advertising

Offlendar uses Google AdMob to show banner and interstitial ads. AdMob and its partners may collect or receive device and advertising-related information (such as IP address, device identifiers, and approximate location derived by ad networks) to serve and measure ads, including through Apple’s SKAdNetwork.

This advertising data is processed by Google and participating ad partners under their own privacy policies—not by Offlendar’s on-device calendar database. We do not sell your calendar, task, or photo-note content to advertisers.

You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings (for example, Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising / Tracking, depending on your iOS version). AdMob’s privacy information is available at Google’s advertising and privacy documentation.

5. Third-Party Services and Network Activity

Besides on-device Apple frameworks, the App may communicate with:

• Google AdMob — advertising (see Section 4).
• Apple services — App Store ratings/reviews, MapKit place search, system calendar/reminders, notifications, and biometrics as you use those features.
• App portfolio / promo feed — the App may fetch a public projects list from https://healthplate.org/api/projects to support “share” / portfolio-style promotion. That request uses a simple app user agent and does not send your calendar or task contents.

When you sync with Google or other calendars through iOS accounts, those providers’ privacy policies also apply to data held in their services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal calendar content. We do not share your events, tasks, or photo notes with third parties for their independent marketing. Sharing that may occur is limited to:

• Ad networks (AdMob) for advertising as described above
• Apple or calendar providers when you use system sync, MapKit, or App Store features
• Destinations you choose when exporting, sharing, or backing up files
• Legal requirements, if we are compelled by applicable law

7. Data Retention and Deletion

• On-device library: retained until you delete items in the App or delete the App (which removes local App data, subject to any backups you made yourself or device-level backups such as iCloud device backup controlled by Apple).
• Exports: retained wherever you saved them; delete those copies separately.
• Ads / promo network logs: retained by those providers according to their policies.

To remove Offlendar data from the device, delete the corresponding items in-app and/or uninstall Offlendar. Revoke Calendar, Reminders, Photos, Location, and notification access in iOS Settings if desired.

8. Security

Your primary Offlendar library remains on your device. You may enable an optional biometric or device-passcode lock inside the App. No security measure is perfect; protect your device with a passcode and keep iOS updated. Exported files are not encrypted by Offlendar unless you store them in a protected location you control.

9. Children’s Privacy

Offlendar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 on our servers. If you believe a child has provided information to us through a channel we control, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. International Users

The App is distributed via the Apple App Store. Advertising and promotional network requests may be processed in various countries by those providers. Your on-device content stays on your device unless you export or sync it through services you choose.

11. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. For Offlendar:

• View and edit your content directly in the App
• Export or delete content using in-app tools
• Control permissions and tracking settings in iOS
• Contact us for privacy questions related to developer-operated services (ads configuration, promo feed, App Store listing)

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
