Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Offlendar is developed and published by an independent developer under the App Store / Google Play listings for Offlendar. App identifiers include:

• iOS: com.vinh.Offlendar
• Android: com.vinh.offlendar

This policy covers both platforms unless a section states otherwise.

2. Information We Collect and Process

Offlendar does not require you to create an account with us, and we do not operate a cloud backend that stores your calendar content. Information you enter or grant access to is processed primarily on your device.

2.1 Information you create in the App

Depending on how you use Offlendar, the App may store on your device:

• Calendar events (titles, notes, locations, dates/times, recurrence, colors, reminders)
• Tasks and subtasks (titles, notes, due dates, priorities, tags, completion status)
• Photo notes (images, captions, optional on-device OCR text, links to events/tasks)
• App preferences (language, week-start, biometric lock, notification and sync toggles, and similar settings)
• Widget snapshots shared between the App and Offlendar widgets via an on-device shared container (on iOS, an App Group such as group.com.vinh.Offlendar)

This content is stored locally using on-device databases and files. Offlendar does not sync your library to developer-operated cloud servers. Device-level backups (for example iCloud or Google Backup) are controlled by Apple or Google, not by Offlendar.

2.2 Device permissions you may grant

With your permission, Offlendar may access:

• Calendars: to read and write calendars available on your device (including Apple Calendar / EventKit on iOS, and device calendars on Android), so events can stay available offline in Offlendar.
• Reminders (iOS): to import Apple Reminders as tasks and optionally keep them in sync.
• Camera and photos / media: to capture or attach photo notes. Images and captions stay on your device unless you export or share them yourself.
• Location: only for optional arrive/leave (geofence) reminders you create. Location data for those reminders is stored on-device and is not uploaded by Offlendar to our servers. Background location (where enabled) is used only so those reminders can fire when the App is closed.
• Biometrics / device lock: optional Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or device credentials so you can protect access to the App. Biometric templates are handled by the operating system and are not collected by us.
• Notifications: local alerts for events, tasks, briefings, and location reminders. Notification content is generated on-device.
• App Tracking Transparency (iOS): if you allow tracking, advertising partners may use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for personalized ads. You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

You can revoke permissions at any time in system Settings for Offlendar (iOS Settings → Offlendar, or Android Settings → Apps → Offlendar → Permissions).

2.3 On-device text recognition (OCR)

If you enable reading text in photo notes, Offlendar uses on-device text recognition (for example Apple Vision on iOS or on-device ML Kit on Android) to extract text from images. That processing happens on your device; recognized text is stored with the photo note locally.

2.4 Place search

When you search for a place (for example, to attach a location reminder), the App may use platform map / local search APIs (such as Apple MapKit on iOS). Place search queries may be sent to Apple or other map providers under their terms and privacy practices. Offlendar does not send those queries to our own servers.

2.5 Backups and exports you initiate

Offlendar lets you export ICS calendars and JSON backups, and import ICS or backup files. Export and import use the system Files / share interfaces. If you save, email, or upload an export to another service, that destination’s privacy policy applies. Offlendar does not automatically back up your library to our servers.

2.6 Information we do not collect as app content

We do not collect your Offlendar events, tasks, photo notes, or location reminder details onto developer-operated servers for storage or analysis.

3. How We Use Information

On-device information is used solely to provide App features, including:

• Showing and editing calendars, tasks, and photo notes
• Syncing with calendars and reminders you authorize on the device
• Scheduling local notifications and optional location-based reminders
• Powering widgets via on-device shared storage where available
• Optional app lock with biometrics
• Showing ads and limited promotional content (see Section 4)

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Offlendar uses Google AdMob to show banner and interstitial ads. AdMob and its partners may collect or receive device and advertising-related information to serve, personalize (where allowed), and measure ads. Examples can include:

• IP address and general device / network information
• Advertising identifiers (such as IDFA on iOS when you grant tracking permission, or the Android Advertising ID where available)
• Approximate location derived by ad networks
• Ad interaction and performance data
• On iOS, conversion measurement via Apple’s SKAdNetwork and related technologies

This advertising data is processed by Google and participating ad partners under their own privacy policies—not by Offlendar’s on-device calendar database. We do not sell your calendar, task, or photo-note content to advertisers, and we do not send that content to AdMob.

4.1 Consent, privacy messaging, and tracking

Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland), Offlendar uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to show a consent / privacy message before personalized advertising is enabled. You can revisit privacy choices in the App when a Privacy choices option is shown in Settings.

On iOS, after the consent flow (when applicable), the App may also request permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. If you deny tracking, ads may still appear but are typically less personalized.

You can also limit ads in system settings, for example:

• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising
• Android: Settings → Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads), including options to reset or opt out of ads personalization where available

4.2 Google’s information

For how Google uses data in advertising products, see Google’s policies, including:

• AdMob & privacy / data use information
• How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services

5. Third-Party Services and Network Activity

Besides on-device platform frameworks, the App may communicate with:

• Google AdMob / Google User Messaging Platform — advertising and consent messaging (see Section 4).
• Apple / Google platform services — store ratings and reviews, map / place search, system calendars and reminders, notifications, and biometrics as you use those features.
• App portfolio / promo feed — the App may fetch a public projects list from https://healthplate.org/api/projects to support “More apps,” share, or portfolio-style promotion. That request uses a simple app user agent and does not send your calendar or task contents.

When you sync with Google or other calendars through accounts on your device, those providers’ privacy policies also apply to data held in their services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal calendar content. We do not share your events, tasks, or photo notes with third parties for their independent marketing. Sharing that may occur is limited to:

• Ad networks (AdMob and partners) for advertising and measurement as described in Section 4
• Apple, Google, or calendar providers when you use system sync, maps, store, or OS features
• Destinations you choose when exporting, sharing, or backing up files
• Legal requirements, if we are compelled by applicable law

7. Data Retention and Deletion

• On-device library: retained until you delete items in the App or uninstall the App (which removes local App data, subject to any backups you made yourself or device-level backups controlled by Apple or Google).
• Exports: retained wherever you saved them; delete those copies separately.
• Ads / consent / promo network logs: retained by those providers according to their policies. Consent choices may be stored locally by the UMP SDK on your device.

To remove Offlendar data from the device, delete the corresponding items in-app and/or uninstall Offlendar. Revoke calendar, photos, location, notification, and related permissions in system Settings if desired.

8. Security

Your primary Offlendar library remains on your device. You may enable an optional biometric or device-credential lock inside the App. No security measure is perfect; protect your device with a screen lock and keep your operating system updated. Exported files are not encrypted by Offlendar unless you store them in a protected location you control.

9. Children’s Privacy

Offlendar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 on our servers. The App may show third-party ads; AdMob and related services have their own age and child-directed advertising rules. If you believe a child has provided information to us through a channel we control, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. International Users

The App is distributed via the Apple App Store and Google Play. Advertising, consent messaging, and promotional network requests may be processed in various countries by those providers. Where required, we present privacy / consent messages through Google’s UMP before enabling personalized ads. Your on-device Offlendar content stays on your device unless you export or sync it through services you choose.

11. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. For Offlendar:

• View and edit your content directly in the App
• Export or delete content using in-app tools
• Control permissions, tracking (iOS ATT), and ads personalization in system Settings
• Use in-app Privacy choices (when shown) to manage AdMob / UMP privacy options
• Contact us for privacy questions related to developer-operated services (ads configuration, promo feed, store listings)

For advertising data processed by Google, you may also use Google’s tools and privacy controls described in Google’s Privacy Policy and ad settings.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
