Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a new game?
From the main menu, tap "New Game" to start a fresh chess match. You can choose to play against the AI or set up a custom game.
How do I move pieces?
Tap on a piece to select it, then tap on the square where you want to move it. The app will highlight valid moves for the selected piece.
How do I adjust the AI difficulty?
You can adjust the AI difficulty level in the game settings menu before starting a new game. Options typically range from Beginner to Expert.
What happens when I'm in check?
When your king is in check, the app will highlight it and you must move your king out of check, block the check, or capture the attacking piece. You cannot make any other move while in check.
How does pawn promotion work?
When a pawn reaches the opposite end of the board, you'll be prompted to choose which piece to promote it to (Queen, Rook, Bishop, or Knight). The Queen is the most common choice.
Can I undo moves?
Depending on your game settings, you may be able to undo moves. Check the game menu for an "Undo" option. Note that this feature may not be available in all game modes.
How do I save my game?
Your game progress is automatically saved locally on your device. You can resume your game from the main menu. Make sure not to delete the app if you want to keep your saved games.
Can I play against another person on the same device?
Yes! You can play in "Pass and Play" mode where two players take turns on the same device. Select this option from the main menu when starting a new game.
How do I learn chess rules?
The app includes visual guides and hints to help you learn. You can also access the rules section from the main menu to learn about each piece's movement and special rules like castling and en passant.
Why does the app ask for permissions?
Chess Game For Kids may request minimal permissions for features like saving game progress, analytics to improve the app, or notifications (if available). All permissions are optional and used only to enhance your experience.
